Eintracht Frankfurt firmly commits Kevin Trapp of PSG

Bundesliga: Eintracht Frankfurt firmly commits Kevin Trapp of PSG

Eintracht Frankfurt has signed goalkeeper Kevin Trapp from French champions Paris Saint-Germain. This was officially announced by the Hessians on Wednesday afternoon. Trapp signs a contract in Frankfurt until 2024.

“Kevin was an important pillar in the past season and made an enormous contribution to the positive course of the season. His charisma and impact is enormously important for the team and we are very happy to be able to retain a top goalkeeper and German national player for the long term, said Eintracht Sports Director Fredi Bobic.

Trapp was also happy: “I already stressed in spring that I feel very comfortable in Frankfurt and with Eintracht. The time in Paris was very exciting for me, successful and a great experience. Now I’m fully coming home and want to achieve a lot with Eintracht,” said the 29-year-old.

According to media reports, the transfer amounts to around seven million euros. Trapp had already been awarded last season by PSG to Eintracht, from whom he had moved to Paris in 2015. Although the three-time German nationalkeeper was convincing in the preparation of the Parisians, coach Thomas Tuchel has opted for Alphonse Areola as number one.

Trapp played a major role in the strong season of the Frankfurters, who had stormed to the semi-finals of the Europa League, among other things. Trapp, who had already played for the SGE from 2012 to 2015 before moving to France, has played a total of 141 matches for Eintracht so far.
