Eberl proposes joint transfer closure of top leagues

Bundesliga: Eberl proposes joint transfer closure of top leagues

Mönchengladbach’s Sports Director Max Eberl has campaigned for a joint transfer conclusion of the European top leagues.

“I would like it best: The four or five top leagues agree on a joint transfer end before the start of the season,” the Borussen manager told the kicker.

Bayer Leverkusen’s sports managing director Rudi Völler showed great respect for the English Premier League, which independently completed the transfer before the first matchday. “I must take my hat off to the English. You have the broad chest to say: Why do we care about the other leagues? We’ll do what we think is right. I think that’s good,” emphasized the 1990 world champion.

Such an approach by the Bundesliga is unthinkable, however. Völler: “Not alone, no way.” Sport director Armin Veh of the ascender 1 FC Köln added: “The disadvantages would be much too big. Imagine if we close our shopping page in mid-August, and the English clubs could access us until 2 September. Then we’d have a big problem.”
