Bundesliga: Dynamo keeper apparently Nübel alternative

FC Schalke 04 could have found an alternative to Alexander Nübel in Markus Schubert of Dynamo Dresden. The clubless Yohan Cabaye is also traded. Leon Goretzka gives a painful advice. Here you can find all news and rumours about FC Schalke 04.

According to ran.de FC Schalke 04 is interested in Markus Schubert from Dynamo Dresden. The goalkeeper could be the alternative to Alexander Nübel in Gelsenkirchen. According to Bild, sports director Jochen Schneider has been working on Schubert’s commitment for weeks.

The 21-year-old is currently active for the German eleven at the U21 European Championships in Italy and San Marino, but will have to leave Nübel to take the lead there. He did not renew his contract in Dresden and is therefore on the market free of charge with effect from 1 July.

On Schalke, as the picture reports, Schubert could rise to number one by 2020 at the latest if Nübel leaves the club free of charge. FC Bayern is considered to be interested. FC Arsenal is also to vie for Schubert’s services. But the Gunners would probably hire him and then borrow him.

S04 would probably suggest something similar: VfB Stuttgart could be a good opportunity for a year to collect playing practice at a high level after the retirement of Ron-Robert Zieler.

According to a report by L’Equipe, FC Schalke 04 is interested in Yohan Cabaye. The 33-year-old central midfielder has been without an employer since January after not extending his collaboration with Al-Nasr. The long-time French national player is said to have aroused interest in both Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga.

To what extent Cabaye still embodies the highest level, however, is questionable. After stops at Newcastle United, Paris Saint-Germain and Crystal Palace, a clear downward trend was recently discernible. Cabaye, on the other hand, has the experience from over 500 professional games.

FC Schalke 04 has received a recommendation from Leon Goretzka that not everyone should like to hear. The midfielder of FC Bayern emphasized Borussia Dortmund’s good transfer policy in an interview with the picture: “As hard as it sounds, you can take that as a role model in Schalke.”

The great rival of the royal blues had always made good purchases and sales on the transfer market, said Goretzka. That’s why the ambitions regarding the championship are justified: “I think it’s absolutely good that they do it this way. One should set oneself high goals. They’ve got a cadre that can do it.”

Goretzka described his own decision to leave Schalke as “absolutely right”. At FC Bayern, he was very well received: “I scored a lot of goals and made a lot of templates, I settled in super in the city and in the club. That’s why I’m satisfied.”
