Competition for SGE in bidding for Boateng

Bundesliga: Competition for SGE in bidding for Boateng

Eintracht Frankfurt apparently faces competition from Italy in the planned recall action by Kevin-Prince Boateng.

As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serie A club AC Florenz has also expressed interest in the 32-year-old of league competitor Sassuolo Calcio. The “Fiorentina” would therefore like to borrow Boateng for an initial year. His contract with Sassuolo is valid until 2021.

AC Florence was acquired in June by the Italian-American entrepreneur Rocco Commisso for around 200 million euros and is currently looking for reinforcements for its management team. Commisso is head of Mediacom and had prepared the takeover of the traditional Italian club for over a year.

In the past week, various media had reported that Eintracht, too, was considering a new engagement for the midfielder.

Boateng had left Eintracht for Italy after winning the 2018 Cup. After half a year Boateng was lent to FC Barcelona, but in last season’s second half he only played four competitive games. Despite the purchase option, the Spanish master waived a firm commitment.

Following the departure of strikers Luka Jovic (Real Madrid) and Sebastien Haller (West Ham United), Frankfurt are looking for offensive players.
