BVB with new interest in Mandzukic?

Bundesliga: BVB with new interest in Mandzukic?

Borussia Dortmund apparently has a new interest in Mario Mandzukic on the advice of Matthias Sammer. Duvan Zapata could also be a theme for the summer. The BVB share has reached an annual high.

Here you can find all news and rumours about the BVB.

Borussia Dortmund is interested in Mario Mandzukic from Juventus according to a report in the picture. The Croatian striker is said to have been taken into consideration on the advice of Matthias Sammer. In the course of the week, SportBild had already announced that BVB was looking for a striker in addition to the transfers already made.

The 33-year-old Mandzukic is still under contract in Turin until 2021. However, after the departure of coach Massimiliano Allegri, Juventus are planning to rebuild their squad and could lose a few players. BVB had already been associated with the experienced Croat in 2018.

Mandzukic knows the Bundesliga from times at VfL Wolfsburg and FC Bayern Munich. At BVB, it could be an alternative to the injury-prone Paco Alcacer. The only stumbling block according to the picture is that Lucien Favre, unlike Michael Zorc and Hans-Joachim Watzke, is not supposed to be a big fan of the Mandzukic striker type.

Borussia Dortmund may also have Duvan Zapata in mind as a possible option for the offensive. According to the Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, BVB watched Atalanta Bergamo’s striker play 1-1 against Juventus last Sunday.

Zapata was already traded at BVB in 2013 and 2018. The 28-year-old Colombian is rather of the massive variety Mittelstürmer, but also reaches a high speed. With 22 goals in 36 Serie A games, Zapata made a lot of self-promotion throughout the season.

This could become a problem for the BVB. Atalanta will probably activate the purchase option and commit Zapata firmly for 14 million euros from Sampdoria. The striker could then be sold – for up to 50 million euros. FC Chelsea, SSC Naples and West Ham are also said to be interested.

The transfers of Nico Schulz (TSG 1899 Hoffenheim), Julian Brandt (Bayer Leverkusen) and Thorgan Hazard (Borussia Mönchengladbach) have catapulted the Borussia Dortmund AG share to new heights. Over the past two days, the value has risen by five percent, reaching a new high for the year.

At 9.49 euros, the share was briefly even more expensive than the one from February, when Borussia Dortmund still thought it was on the best path towards the championship. Last but not least, the transfer and the fixed income from the qualification for the Champions League may have been decisive for the upswing.

The club can also count on 30 to 40 million euros from the premier class in the coming season. The fact that in the coming transfer window a similar expenditure value will probably be achieved as last season, far from the 100 million Euro mark, is, however, an indication of new championship plans at Borussia.
