The 153rd district derby in the Bundesliga will take place in Dortmund. On Saturday, 27 April, the game will kick off at Signal Iduna Park at 15.30 hrs.
The district derby between Borussia Dortmund and Schalke 04 on the 31st matchday has a special feature in store. As an exception, the game will be shown on free TV on Saturday afternoon. Sky and ARD agreed on a cooperation that both broadcasters would broadcast the game live.
Sky will show the match as usual as a single match as well as the match in the conference with the other Bundesliga matches on Saturday afternoon. Pre-reporting for the derby starts at 2:00.
For Sky customers, the pay-TV channel also offers a livestream. Via SkyGo, both the single game and the conference can be called up.
The ARD will announce itself live from Dortmund starting from 15.05 o’clock. The following personnel will accompany the 153rd derby:
Never before has the gap between the two teams been so wide before a Bundesliga duel. Schalke is currently 42 points behind BVB, which makes the hosts the clear favourites in this duel.
Dortmund must not afford to slip any more in the fight for the championship and is counting on home strength. Borussia is the only Bundesliga club still undefeated on home ground.
The BVB won the preliminary round game and ended the dry spell of five derby districts without a win in a row. Thomas Delaney brought the black-yellows into the lead by head in the 2:1 victory in Gelsenkirchen.
After Daniel Caligiuri’s equaliser (penalty kick), Jadon Sancho scored the winning goal a quarter of an hour before the end.
Huub Stevens apparently voluntarily renounces Nabil Bentaleb in the district derby. Schalke’s midfielder will again be transferred to the U23 of the club according to picture information. The reason was apparently again disciplinary missteps. That’s what Sky reports.
Already in the middle of March the Algerian had to train with the second team. At that time he did not appear during an injury break despite arrangement to a home game.
Before the derby, BVB defender Abdou Diallo warned against FC Schalke: “With an injured animal, you always have to be on your guard, it’s usually dangerous,” he told the kicker with regard to the corked-up season of the royal blues.
“With this game Schalke can save his season”, Diallo explained and once again underlined the prestige that is at stake in the district derby.
