Bundesliga: Brandt avoids clear commitment to Bayer

Will Julian Brandt leave or will he stay with Bayer Leverkusen? In the past few days, rumors have spread that his father and advisor Jürgen had met with representatives of Borussia Dortmund to sound out a move to the Ruhr area. Brandt junior did not allow himself to be tempted to make a clear confession on Sunday.

“I’ve said everything about it. I want to finish the season as good as I can. My contract runs until 2021, so everything is good at the moment and every fan can look forward to the next two weeks,” said the international following the Werkself’s brilliant 6-1 win against Eintracht Frankfurt at Sky. He pushed, “I’ll stand now.”

According to media reports, Brandt can leave the Rhinelanders for the relatively low exit clause of 25 million euros.

FC Bayern also spent months in the media as a potential customer for Brandt. According to the Bild newspaper, however, the record champion has refrained from a transfer. The reason for this is supposed to be the fluctuating performance of the 23-year-old.

Especially in the second half of the current season Brandt knows how to please with his performances. He scored five of his six Bundesliga goals in the new year, and in 2019 he already contributed twelve goals.
