Bayer 04 Leverkusen is, according to Sky information, interested in a commitment from the French left-back Theo Hernandez of Real Madrid. Lucas Hernandez’s brother, who will also be playing in the Bundesliga at FC Bayern this summer, will be an alternative to Wendell. Hernandez is currently on loan to Real Sociedad.
Reals coach Zinedine Zidane had already indicated that the French U21 international would no longer play a role in his planning. Thus the departure from the royals is probably only a matter of form.
In addition to Bayer Leverkusen, however, several teams from the Primera Division, the SSC Naples and allegedly also FC Bayern are apparently working on the 21-year-old. The most recent speculation was about a redemption of about 30 million euros for Hernandez. Now, however, there is a loan with a purchase option in the room.
In addition to Hernandez, Bayer is also said to have an interest in Daley Sinkgraven from Dutch champion Ajax Amsterdam. However, it is unlikely that both left-backs will eventually switch to the Werkself.
Hernandez joined Real Madrid in 2017 from city rivals Atletico and was most recently loaned to Real Sociedad. He could be Real Madrid’s next full-back to loan to Leverkusen. His club-mate Daniel Carvajal was already under contract with Leverkusen from 2012 to 2013 and became a regular with the royals on his return to Real.
