Bundesliga: Bavarian squad? Lewandwoski renews criticism

Robert Lewandowski of FC Bayern Munich has once again criticized the record champion’s squad width after the 0:2 in the Supercup against Borussia Dortmund.

“I think you could see today that sometimes you just need players on the bench who can help right away or give an impulse,” said the Pole in the Mixed Zone. “My opinion remains the same and today you could see what happens when we have a certain number of professional players.”

“I’m angry because we lost the game ourselves,” Lewandowski continued. “We could have won, but we made too many simple mistakes. After the first goal, we didn’t believe we could come back one hundred percent.”

At 0:2 the newcomers Benjamin Pavard, Jann-Fiete Arp and Sarpreet Singh as well as Renato Sanches, Alphonso Davies, Sven Ulreich, Ron-Thorben Hoffmann and Ryan Johansson sat on the bench of Bayern. Singh, Hoffmann and Johansson are actually scheduled for the second team.

Bayern made an unusually large number of mistakes at the Dortmund match. The goals of Paco Alcacer and Jadon Sancho were both preceded by a loss by Thiago.
