“Absolutely wrong”: Forsberg denies clause

Bundesliga: "Absolutely wrong": Forsberg denies clause

Offensive man Emil Forsberg of RB Leipzig has denied that he has anchored an exit clause in his contract.

“It is absolutely wrong to claim that I had an opt-out clause included in the 2017 contract extension,” the Swede said in an interview with Bild-Zeitung. He pushed, “That’s not true. There is no such clause.”

Forsberg’s consultant Hasan Cetinkaya had recently repeatedly tried to exert pressure on the Red Bulls and publicly complained that Leipzig was calling for “35 to 40 million euros” for its client. Several media had reported thereupon that exactly that sum was regarded as a contractually stipulated redemption.

“If Emil had an exit clause, I would immediately pay for it out of my own pocket,” Cetinkaya now said. “This misinformation was deliberately scattered. I have the impression that some people in the club want to protect themselves with it. It’s just a pity these people are using Emil for interests now.”

Currently Forsberg, who is still bound to the Saxons until 2022, is pokering for a new working paper. If Leipzig does not accept the required conditions, a change for the 27-year-old would be possible.

The 43 times national player had changed from Malmö FF to Pleiße in 2015 for 3.7 million Euro.
