The arbitration proceedings concerning the special permission for club boss Martin Kind to take over Hannover 96 are apparently about to be discontinued. The DFL confirmed to the sports information service a corresponding report of Bild.
Accordingly, the child himself applied for the proceedings to be suspended. The association had also informed the arbitral tribunal that the application should be suspended.
In June 2018, the DFL unanimously rejected the application of Hanover and Martin Kind for an exemption from the 50+1 rule. According to the association’s rules, it was therefore not possible for the club boss to take over the majority of the shares in “Hannover 96 Management GmbH”.
The 75-year-old entrepreneur then turned to the court of arbitration. For more than six months, negotiations have been held there under the chairmanship of the former constitutional judge Udo Steiner.
The arbitral tribunal wanted to wait for the development at the general meeting at Hannover 96 on 23 March. The situation was more unclear than ever, as the opposition won a clear victory. According to image information, the newly elected child bodies have now asked to suspend the proceedings before the arbitral tribunal.
That the motion will be accepted is probably only a formality, as Steiner confirmed to the newspaper: “The approval of the League Association as defendant is still missing. The arbitral tribunal also still has to advise. But it looks like the process will be suspended for the time being.”
