Youssoufa Moukoko is not allowed to run for the German junior national team for the time being – although they would like to bet on him. Another youth player of the BVB is ennobled by Michael Skibbe. The Signal Iduna Park lands on the first place in a fan survey. Here you can find all news and rumours about the BVB.
The headlines about Youssoufa Moukoko are still going strong. Last Sunday, the 14-year-old made his debut in Borussia Dortmund’s U19 – and scored just six goals. No wonder the DFB would like to see him in the U18 national team. Christian Wörn’s trainer is there: “We’d like to see him play for us again.”
The BVB wants to protect Moukoko against this first of all. U19 coach Michael Skibbe told Bild that Moukoko would play enough high-level matches with the Youth League and the U19: “It’s important to us that he concentrates on school and the club first – and that the already huge hype surrounding him doesn’t get any bigger”. The last time Moukoko was on the loose was in October 2017 for the German U16.
Another teenager at Borussia Dortmund is a source of enthusiasm. Like Moukoko, 16-year-old American Giovanni Reyna made his debut in the U19 on Sunday – and was directly on the scorer’s list. “He’s a very important and valuable player ahead of us,” praised coach Michael Skibbe, who particularly highlighted Reyna’s good passes on Moukoko. His conclusion: “The boy will one day become a professional. That’s as sure as the amen in the church.”
The internet portal testberichte.de has named the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund the most popular football stadium in Germany. A total of 240,000 visitor opinions on the stadiums in the top three German leagues had been evaluated. With an average of 4.7 stars – five would be possible – Germany’s largest stadium came first, closely followed by An Der Alten Försterei (Union Berlin – also 4.7) and Munich’s Allianz Arena (4.6).
Today Borussia Dortmund completes the first public training of the new season. From 10.30 a.m. the fans can watch the pros. Afterwards the balance sheet press conference with Thomas Treß and BVB boss Hans-Joachim Watzke will take place from 12 noon – one can be curious whether new record figures will be announced.
