Donny van de Beek’s move from Ajax Amsterdam to Real Madrid is getting closer and closer. According to information from Goal and SOCCERSCORE, not only are the midfielder himself and the royals already in agreement, but an agreement between the two clubs is also imminent. Real is currently offering 55 million euros in rebates, while Ajax is demanding just a little more with 60 million euros.
Van de Beek, who threw Real out of the Champions League with Ajax in last season’s round of 16, had been on the Madrilenians’ radar for several months. Especially as a commitment from Zinedine Zidane’s dream player Paul Pogba of Manchester United is very complicated, they recently turned to van de Beek even more concretely.
The 22-year-old Dutchman had publicly confirmed Reals’ interest on Friday at Fox Sports. The fact that he was probably only second choice behind Pogba obviously doesn’t bother him: “Maybe he is. But you don’t have to believe everything the newspapers write,” says van de Beek.
At Real, however, the disappointing preparation of the game is a clear indication that they will have to look for more new players, especially in the midfield. In addition to his qualities as a strategist, Van de Beek would also bring gate danger into the royal engine room.
Meanwhile, van de Beeke’s arrival would directly affect the future of James Rodriguez. The Colombian, who has been lent to FC Bayern in the last two years, has recently started preparations at Real, but Zidane is still not relying on him and urgently needs fresh money in the coffers. And when van de Beek comes along, a sale of James is no longer a problem for management.
As the Spaniards want a redemption between 42 and 50 million euros for the 28-year-old, Atletico Madrid is currently the favorite on his commitment. The SSC Naples, which is also interested, is still only interested in a loan transaction.
