Bundesliga: Werner change will probably be more concrete

Striker Timo Werner of RB Leipzig could already switch to FC Bayern Munich in summer 2019. As the Sport Bild reports, the record champion has been in agreement with Werner for quite some time, but now he wants to commit him in the next transfer period instead of waiting for his contract to expire in 2020.

The reason for Bavaria’s determination to bring Werner in 2019 is that the 23-year-old German international is both an alternative to Robert Lewandowski in the Sturmzentrum and an option for both offensive outposts. According to Sport Bild, negotiations between the two clubs have not yet taken place.

As far as the transfer fee is concerned, there is obviously still a long way to go anyway. Leipzig should wish for 60 million euros, Bavaria probably considers 25 million euros realistic in view of the contract expiring next year. It is said that the Munichers want to offer a maximum of 40 million euros for Werner.

Leipzig coach Ralf Rangnick had already announced that he would definitely sell Werner in the summer if he did not renew his contract. Managing director Oliver Mintzlaff also indicated last weekend that Werner’s tendency is to say goodbye in the summer.
