Lucas Hernandez starts running training

Lucas Hernandez has started running one day after his presentation at Bayern Munich.

Three months after his inner-band surgery in his right knee, the French World Champion completed his laps on the grass just under half an hour before continuing his individual build-up programme in the performance centre.

On Monday, the 80-million-euro man announced his goal of being available against Hertha BSC for the Bundesliga start of the record champion on 16 August.

“The tape feels very good, I feel very good. I continue to work in small steps,” said Hernandez.

The next stop is the start of team training, which the 23-year-old had originally hoped for for the USA trip of the Bavarians (15 to 24 July).
