The new million star Luka Jovic (21) wants to help the Spanish record champion Real Madrid again to titles. “I am the happiest boy in the world,” said the ex-Frankfurter at his presentation on Wednesday: “I am sure I have chosen the best option, and I will do everything I can to help Real Madrid win everything.”
According to Real President Florentino Perez, the Serbian goal scorer, who secured Eintracht Frankfurt’s renewed participation in the Europa League with his 17 league goals last season, had already slept in the jersey of the record winner of the Champions League as a child.
The Frankfurters, who a few weeks ago had firmly committed Jovic for twelve million euros, will receive 70 percent of the 21-year-old’s redemption fee of allegedly 70 million euros. That would be 49 million – never before has the Europa League semi-finalist of last season collected so much for a professional.
Perez once again praised the good relationship with the people of Frankfurt, before Jovic himself stepped up to the microphone for a few words.
Sports director Fredi Bobic had described the departure from Jovic to the royals after the official announcement as a “great loss” from a sports point of view, but called the agreement for Eintracht Frankfurt “a good and important transfer”.
On Thursday (19.00 h) the Madrilenians will also present their (previous) royal transfer at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in the Belgian World Cup star Eden Hazard.
The offensive player from Chelsea FC will receive a contract with the record Champions-League winner until 2024, the transfer is expected to be in the range of 100 million euros, which according to Spanish media reports could grow by another 45 million euros through bonus payments.
