Werder Keeper in the Old Lady’s sights?

The Italian record champion Juventus Turin boots around goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka of Werder Bremen according to the SportBild. SVW manager Frank Baumann doesn’t want to know anything about an interest of the Bianconeri.

“We know nothing of the Juventus interest and are totally relaxed. Jiri feels very comfortable in Bremen,” says Baumann, whose protégé on the Weser still has a contract until 2021.

But the fact that the Czech international played a great season did not go unnoticed by Baumann either. “Jiri Pavlenka played a great season and confirmed his first strong year with us. Then it’s only logical that there’s interest from other clubs!”

Juventus’s regular goalkeeper is currently Wojciech Szczesny, his deputy Mattia Perin is considered prone to injury. So far the duo has never really been able to replace club legend Gianluigi Buffon.
