Schalke 04’s season was like a catastrophe. Only rank 14 for the king’s blues is on the statistics after the season, a 4:2 away win against runners-up and archrival Dortmund is probably the lonely highlight of a tough Bundesliga season.
It is logical that the seven-time German champion now wants to undergo a squad facelift. David Wagner will be the new coach to lead the team in the coming season and apparently works intensively with Neo-Director Michael Reschke on the optimal squad. A dream access: the Austrian defensive giant Stefan Posch from TSG Hoffenheim. That’s what the picture says. Posch had already taken part in a national team training course under Franco Foda, but had not yet kicked in the A-team. At only 22 years of age, however, his first team assignment is only a matter of time.
However, Posch might not be quite cheap for the royal blues: it was not until December that the Styrian-born, who enjoyed his football training with the Admira, extended his contract with the Kraichgauern. The contract is dated until 2022 and speculation about a possible exit clause is possible. Last season Posch played 17 games for Hoffenheim and made a name for himself with his safe opening and astonishing callousness. Posch is also a member of the Austrian U21 national team for the European Championship and could attract further interested parties with his strong performances.
