Nübel: “As S04 I would have acted differently”

Goalkeeper Alexander Nübel has once again left his future open at FC Schalke 04.

“Now I’m fully concentrating on the U21-EM. After the EM there is still enough time to think about my future”, said Nübel to Sport Bild.

The 22-year-old’s contract runs until June 2020, when Nübel was last traded by the German record champion Bayern Munich as a possible successor to Manuel Neuer.

“Honestly, I’m not worried about that. I cannot prevent speculations about my person, but I can classify them correctly,” said Nübel.

He would have liked the contract to be extended in October: “As Schalke 04, I would certainly have acted differently, but I don’t know the club’s strategy.”
