Bundesliga: Hoeneß about FCB Transfers: "It's getting on my nerves slowly"

Uli Hoeneß of FC Bayern Munich has been angry with the demands for more transfers. The FCB President also discussed the personal details of Hansi Flick, Mats Hummels and Leroy Sane.

“We’ve spent 120 million so far. I have to be honest, it’s getting on my nerves that you only define yourself through purchases,” Hoeneß told Sky after the playoff final of the FC Bayern basketball team.

The pay-TV station had asked the 67-year-old about his announcement in November. In Sport1’s double pass, Hoeneß had announced: “If you knew who we already had.” Hoeneß refrained from doing so on Friday evening: “We just won two titles and we should all celebrate now.”

He could, however, assure that there would be a good team in place by “15 August”. So far FC Bayern has made the new additions Lucas Hernandez (Atletico Madrid), Jann-Fiete Arp (Hamburger SV) and Benjamin Pavard (VfB Stuttgart) public.

Hoeneß was unable to confirm that Sane will soon be part of the FC Bayern team, but remarked: “If he wants to, he can do it.” The president of the association could not add anything new to the current media reports.

Among other things, the picture reports that Sane is currently more likely to stay with Manchester City. The English are at least a bit tied, as the contract of the German national player expires in summer 2020.

Meanwhile, Bayern was able to win a new member for the coach’s bench in Hansi Flick: “A very good decision, because we need a man who also works with young people. And we need a man who integrates, that was an explicit wish of Niko Kovac.”

On the side of the retirements, FC Bayern recently announced the return of Hummels to Borussia Dortmund. According to the kicker, the medical check will be completed on Wednesday of this week and the change completed afterwards.

Hoeneß classified the central defender’s wish to change: “The Mats asked for his release, and FC Bayern then started the talks. This was the express wish of Mats Hummels and his father.”

All in all, the Hummels transfer was the right decision due to the density of personnel in central defence: “Although Mats played a good second half”. Hoeneß did not want to comment on whether Jerome Boateng, as the kicker reports, should continue to leave Bavaria.
