FCB advertises with Matthäus as Hasselhoff

Sunglasses, red swimming shorts, lifebuoy: With Lothar Matthäus in the role of lifeguard Mitch Buchannon alias David Hasselhoff from the legendary TV series “Baywatch”, Bayern Munich is promoting its US tour.

In the one-minute spot on the beach of Santa Monica in California, Matthew gives the lifeguard – and invites the fans to visit the test match of the German football record champion against FC Arsenal on 17 July in Los Angeles.

“I am ready – are you?” asks Matthew at the end of the film (I am ready – you too?), and adds: “See you on July 17th, here in LA. Mia san mia!” Like Hasselhoff (66) once did, the record national player stands in front of one of the famous viewing houses. Previously, Matthäus (58) had supposedly sprinted across the beach in action – with a slight belly build-up, but quite well in shape.

The Bavarians will be on a US tour from July 15 to 24. In addition to the Gunner duel, tests against Real Madrid (20 July in Houston) and AC Milan (23 July in Kansas City) are on the agenda.
