Alexander Nübel from FC Schalke 04 is still in great demand. In addition to FC Bayern Munich, numerous top clubs from Europe are also expected to play for the 22-year-old. According to the information in the picture, there is now another interested party from the Bundesliga: RB Leipzig.
Accordingly, the Saxons should be very interested in the Schalker Keeper. Leipzig’s new sports director Markus Krösche knows Nübel from his time with SC Paderborn and will push for a reunion. At just 22 years of age, Nübel fits in perfectly with the booty scheme of the trade fair city dwellers.
Another point is that, according to the picture, Peter Gulacsi, the regular keeper, is thinking about a change next summer. The Hungarian allegedly has the dream of playing in the Premier League. This summer, too, the first offers from England and Spain for the bull keeper arrived, even though the people of Leipzig thankfully rejected them.
Until now, the Bavarians have been the favourites for the services of Nübel, who see the U21 international as a potential successor to Manuel Neuer. The Leipzig deposit would be against the fact that they could advertise with a regular place, while Nübel would have to line up with the record champion first behind Neuer.
Nübel’s contract in Gelsenkirchen runs until 2020, so the royal blues are trying to extend the contract prematurely. A new offer has already been made, including an exit clause for the year 2021.
Whether Nübel accepts this offer, however, is completely unclear. Besides Leipzig and Bayern, Atletico Madrid and Roma have probably also kept an eye on the Schalker Keeper.
