Borussia Dortmund is said to have other talents on the hook: The Danish wing player Magnus Kaastrup is to come, the American striker Sebastian Soto is also to be targeted. Lars Ricken explains why Youssufa Moukoko cannot become BVB’s new record player – and the 14-year-old continues to hit the ball as if on the assembly line.
Here you can find all news and rumours about the BVB.
Transfermarkt reports that Borussia Dortmund is on the verge of signing the Danish talent Magnus Kaastrup. The 18-year-old wing forward played for Aarhus GF this season and was used 17 times by the pros. Kaastrup is to be borrowed for the time being, but Dortmund is said to have secured a purchase option of five million euros.
Kaastrup would now be the third Dane in the BVB squad: Thomas Delaney and Jacob Bruun Larsen are already under contract. Whether Kaastrup is an option for the professionals remains to be seen: He should first be “slowly introduced to the team”.
According to ESPN, the BVB has another talent in its sights: 18-year-old Sebastian Soto from Hannover 96 is supposed to be on the black-yellow list. The U.S. American has at 96 still contract until 2020, but has not yet extended it. It would be possible for the Lower Saxons to hand it over if no agreement can be reached on another working paper.
Soto had three short starts in the Bundesliga, 24 in the A-youth and 17 in the A-youth.
Youssoufa Moukoko scored four goals against Arminia Bielefeld 6:1 to win the BVB B-Jugend title in the Bundesliga West. The 14-year-old is also chasing the league record of an ex-Schalker.
Despite his 14 years, Moukoko plowed through BVB’s U17 for the last two years. Could he even play Bundesliga in the foreseeable future? So far Nuri Sahin is the record player of the A-team: He was 16 years and 335 days old at his first assignment. However, Moukoko, born on 20.11.2004, cannot crack this mark, said junior coordinator Lars Ricken at Ruhr Nachrichten: “Unfortunately, that is not possible. The teenager has to “wait two years before he can play with the pros”.
The hype surrounding Moukoko is to be slowed down, says Ricken: “It’s extremely important to parents that peace and quiet are brought in. They told him to focus on school. That’s why he won’t play in the German national team for now.” Moukoko has German and Cameroonian citizenship.
