Jerome Boateng did not take part in the team’s celebrations in front of the fans after FC Bayern Munich won the cup against RB Leipzig (3:0) on Saturday evening.
As was the case when Boateng won the German championship last Saturday, where he was noticed for his listless behaviour and his absence at the championship party, the 30-year-old did not celebrate with the team. After the team was presented with the trophy by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the central defender disappeared into the cabin without going to the fans with the team.
In the 3-0 triumph, Boateng had sat on the bench 90 minutes earlier. Even during the game, he seemed listless: A screenshot circulating on Twitter shows how he is the only player who remains seated at 1:0 and does not cheer.
Thus, after the end of the DFB team in Munich, a farewell through the back door is also indicated. With the engagement of Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard, Boateng gets two additional competitors. In contrast to Franck Ribery or Arjen Robben, he did not get a farewell appearance, but his departure from the Bavarians is almost certain.
The 2014 World Champion wanted to switch to Paris Saint-Germain as early as the summer, but this failed because the transfer fee was not agreed. Boateng had changed from Manchester City to the German record champion in summer 2011. His contract runs until June 30, 2021.
