Ligue 1 before bankruptcy wave because of Corina crisis?

Bernard Caiazzo, who represents the interests of the French Ligue 1 clubs as president, fears massive effects from the corona pandemic.

«Without state aid, half the clubs will have to file for bankruptcy within six months,» Caiazzo told France Bleu Loire.

The French football league has already lost 500 to 600 million euros as a result of the crisis. He was «very, very worried».

Caiazzo, who is on the board of AS St. Etienne, does not believe that Ligue 1 will continue in the near future, «at best on 15 June», rather in July or August. But it is «vital to finish the season».
